How are menus and food choices decided and when?

When you book, you can choose to add a hostess to your crew. Your hostess will contact you a week or two before your departure to discuss the menu she will prepare each day. Once you have sent any dietary requirements and food preferences through, she will draw up a comprehensive menu for your approval.

On departure day, you will give her some of the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) so she can do the shopping for the week. If you wish, she can take responsibility for the whole APA so you do not have to worry yourself about paying for the duration of the sailing holiday. For example, paying mooring fees at harbors and fuel.

Here is a typical menu for a day on the yacht:

Breakfast buffet
A selection of traditional breakfast items can be made available, combined with some extraordinary dishes, for example:

  • Eggs in a variety of styles
  • Fresh fruit platter
  • Selection of local cheeses and cured meats
  • Croissants and fresh bread
  • Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts
  • Porridge
  • Quinoa-pumpkin-salad with fresh parsley
  • Pancakes with berries
  • Grilled tomatoes with oregano and feta

Lunch
Something light and fresh during the day so you can continue to enjoy the sea. For example, zucchini-spaghetti with salmon-fillet, cocktail tomatoes and a white-wine-sauce served with some crusty white bread

Dinner
On two nights of your sailing week, your hostess can cook dinner on board the boat, ideal for off-grid locations. A two-course meal will be served while you enjoy the mild night on the boat, such as grilled chicken with lemon-risotto and avocado-rocket-salad; followed by coconut cheesecake with berries.
